THE BOOK OF EXODUS

Exodus Chapter 31

¶ Then the LORD said to Moses,

Notice, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah:

And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, for all kinds of craftmanship,

To devise skillful works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass,

And in cutting of stones for setting, and woodcarving, and for all sorts of workmanship.

And behold, I have appointed with him Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan: and I have put wisdom in the hearts of all who are wise hearted, so that they can make everything that I have commanded you;

The tabernacle of the congregation, and the ark of the testimony, and the mercy seat that is on it, and all the furniture of the tabernacle,

And the table and its utensils, and the pure candlestick with all its utensils, and the altar of incense,

And the altar of burnt offering with all its furniture, and the laver and its stand,

And the cloths for service, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments for his sons, to serve in the priest’s office,

And the anointing oil, and sweet-smelling incense for the holy place: they shall do all that I have commanded you.

¶ And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

Also tell the children of Israel, Be sure to keep my sabbaths: for it will be a sign between me and you and your descendants; that you may know that I am the LORD who makes you holy.

You shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy to you: every one who defiles it will certainly be put to death: for whoever does any work on the sabbath shall be cut off from among his people.

Work shall be done for six days; but the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whoever does any work on the sabbath day, shall surely be put to death.

Therefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe it throughout their generations, as a perpetual covenant.

It will be a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made the heavens and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

And when he had finished speaking to Moses on Sinai, he gave him two tables of the testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.
