THE BOOK OF REVELATION

Revelation Chapter 5

¶ Then in the right hand of him who sat on the throne I saw a scroll with writing on both sides, sealed with seven seals.

And I saw a mighty angel crying out in a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the scroll, and to break its seals?

And no one in heaven, or on earth, or beneath the earth, was able to open the scroll, or to look inside it.

And I cried bitterly, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or look inside it.

And one of the elders said to me, Do not weep: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll, and to break its seven seals.

¶ And I saw in the midst of the throne and the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, a Lamb standing as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

And he came and took the scroll out of the right hand of him who sat upon the throne.

And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and golden vials full of the smell of incense, which are the prayers of saints.

And they sang a new song, saying, You are worthy to take the scroll, and open its seals: for you were slain, and have redeemed us to God by your blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

And have made us kings and priests of our God: and we will reign over the earth.

And I saw and heard the voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders: and their number was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;

Crying out with a loud voice, The Lamb that was slain is worthy to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing.

Then I heard every creature that is in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and in the sea, and all the things in them, saying, To him who sits upon the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, for ever and ever.

And the four living creatures said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him who lives for ever and ever.
