THE BOOK OF ROMANS

Romans Chapter 12

¶ Therefore I urge you brethren, by the mercy of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is the good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

For by the grace given to me, I warn every one of you, not to think of yourself more highly than you ought; but think of yourself soberly, as God has dealt to every man the measure of faith.

For as we have many members in one body, and all the members do not have the same task:

So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

Having gifts that differ according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, prophesy according to the standard of faith in Christ;

If service, in serving: he who teaches, in his teaching;

He who encourages, in encouraging: he who gives, with generosity; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

Let love be genuine. Hate what is evil; hold fast to what is good.

Have kind affection for one another with brotherly love; in honor giving preference to one another;

Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;

Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;

Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.

Bless those who persecute you: bless, and do not curse.

Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.

Be of the same mind one toward another. Do not be haughty, but be courteous to men of low estate. Do not be wise in your own conceit.

Never return evil for evil. Do what is right in the sight of all men.

If it is possible, inasmuch as you are able, live peaceably with all men.

Dearly beloved, never take revenge, but leave wrath to God: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says the Lord.

Therefore if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him drink: for in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
