God’s
Word plainly tells us that He created the heavens and the earth and
everything
in them in just “six days”. Because God loves us He does not want us to
be
deceived by false claims that the world is millions of years old. Or, by false claims that life arose by evolution.
His Word
even defines the days of creation by telling us that each of them had
an
evening and a morning, and that each of those evenings and mornings
consisted
of a period of darkness followed by a period of light. How much clearer
could
He make it? He then goes on to tell us ten times, that He created
living things
to reproduce after their own kind [Genesis 1:1-31, Exodus 20:11.]
He
also saw to it that Moses carefully recorded the lineage of Abraham’s
ancestors, including the age of each at the birth of his son, in order
to make
it perfectly clear that the world is not millions of years old. Therefore, those who teach the opposite, explaining away
what His
Word says, are rebelling against God. [Psalm

Theistic Evolution is Sin
God gave us His account of
creation because that is what He wants us to believe and teach. The
words of
Scripture mean exactly what they say, and the words, “Let God be true
but every
man a liar” tell us that those who contradict the Genesis account are
lying
(Romans 3:4). The Bible also tells us that they are “fools”, or in the
words of
Isaiah, “have no light in them” (Isaiah
Am I saying that people who
believe theistic evolution cannot be saved? Not at all! We are all
sinners, and
none of us can enter heaven without God’s forgiveness. We are saved
through
faith in Christ, not by what we believe about creation. However,
rejecting and
contradicting what the Bible says is a sin. And, because it is a sin,
those who
are teaching theistic evolution need to repent! If they refuse to
repent then
they need to be dealt according to the steps of Matthew 18:15-18.

is to be done in love, in the hope that they will repent so they can be

Teaching Theistic
Evolution is Blasphemy
By
claiming that God used evolution to create the world, the advocates of
theistic
evolution slander Him, by portraying Him as the one who brought sin,
death, and
suffering into the world. Who in their right mind can believe that
death,
suffering, cruelty, rape, and genocide are good things? And, who in
their right
mind would want to worship a god who uses such methods to bring life
into
existence?

Evolution is Idolatry
A god
who used such methods would be Satan, for it was Satan who brought sin,
suffering, death, cruelty, rape, lust, and genocide into the world and
it is
Satan who continues to promote such things. Therefore, it should be
obvious
that the “god who used evolution to produce the life we see in the
world” is not
the God of the Bible! It is not the God that I worship, and it is not
the God
who “so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whosoever
believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John

Undermines the Gospel
The
record of creation provides the Biblical foundation for both Law and
Gospel. It
provides the foundation for the gospel by making it clear that sin,
suffering
and death were not what God wanted for us, but are what He sent Christ
into the
world to deliver us from. And, it provides the foundation for the law
by making
it clear that since God made us we are accountable to Him, and need to
seek His
mercy (Romans 3:19-20).
The
law was given to the Jews in order to show them their sin, so that they
would
seek God’s mercy. However, instead of seeking His mercy, they sought to
justify
themselves by looking for loopholes around His law, thus making His
commandments “of no effect” (Matthew 15:6, Mark
However,
theistic evolution makes the entire law “of no effect,” for if we are
nothing
more than animals, then we are no more bound by laws of morality than
animals
are! Some may blind themselves to that fact, but far too many young
people see
it clearly, many destroying their lives because of that lie. The
philosopher
Nietzsche also saw it clearly, and as a
result
denounced all religion, and promoted the advancement of man through
forcible
self-assertion. And, Hitler was the admiring disciple of Darwin and
Nietzsche.
Therefore, it should be obvious that those who teach theistic evolution
are not
rightly dividing the Word of Truth.
Teaching Theistic Evolution
is Unscientific
The
French naturalist Comte de Buffon (1707-1788) was the first to propose
the idea
that the world is far older than the Bible teaches. In his book,
“Epochs of
Nature” (1778), he claimed that the world had slowly cooled from a
molten
state, and that it took long periods of time for it to cool. That is
why evolutionists
claim that the world was originally a molten mass. However, the facts
say
otherwise! It is a fact that all of the continents rest on a foundation
of
granite. It is a fact that granite has a crystalline structure that can
only
form in the presence of water. And, it is a fact that if you melt
granite it
will reform into rhyolite, never granite! Therefore, the world could
not have
come into existence as a molten mass. However, it could have come into
existence covered by water, just as the Bible says it did (Genesis
1:9). The
theories of men may contradict the first chapter of Genesis, but the
facts
never do!
That
holds true for every claim that life has evolved! Evolutionists may
look at
dogs and declare, “Look at how they have changed, that proves
evolution,” but
dogs are still dogs, they have not evolved into anything else. They may
look at
certain finches and declare, “Look at how the beaks have changed, that
proves
evolution,” but the finches are still finches, they have not evolved
into anything
else. They may also look at certain bacteria and declare, “Look, they
have
developed an immunity to antibiotics, that proves evolution,” but the
bacteria
are still the same strain of bacteria, they have not evolved into
anything
else. In contrast, when we look at the fossil record, almost
forty-percent of
fossil organisms are not extinct, and we know they are not extinct
because they
still look the same. That, in itself, proves that life is not evolving!
Therefore, let me repeat, the theories of men may contradict the first
chapter
of Genesis, but the facts never do!
Conclusion
Theistic evolution is not
just wrong, it is downright stupid! It is not only contrary to the
Bible, it is
contrary to what the evolutionists themselves teach. It is a fool’s
delusion
(Luke 24:25). Furthermore, it calls into question everything that
Christ said,
because He spoke of the creation record as historical fact. However, we
should
not be surprised at such blindness, for the Bible long ago predicted
that, “the
time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but… they
shall turn
away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables”
(2Timothy 4:3,4).
