THE BOOK OF ZECHARIAH
Zechariah Chapter 2
¶ I lifted up my eyes again, and looked, and saw a man with a measuring line in his hand.
Then I asked, Where are you going? And he said to me, To measure Jerusalem, to determine its width, and its length.
And, behold, the angel who talked with me went out, and another angel went out to meet him,
And said to him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, People will live in Jerusalem without walls, because of the great number of men and cattle in it:
For the LORD says, I will be a wall of fire around her, and will be the glory in the midst of her.
¶ Ho, ho, come out, and flee from the land of the north, says the LORD: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, says the LORD.
Deliver yourself, O Zion, who dwells with the daughter of Babylon.
For the LORD of hosts said this; after his glory sent me to the nations that plundered you: for he who touches you touches the apple of his eye.
Behold, I will shake my fist at them, and they will be plundered by those who were their slaves: and you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent me.
¶ Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of you, says the LORD.
And many nations will be joined to the LORD in that day, and will be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of you, and you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you.
And the LORD will take Judah as his portion in the holy land, and will choose Jerusalem again.
Let all flesh be silent before the LORD: for he is coming from his holy habitation.
