THE BOOK OF ZECHARIAH

Zechariah Chapter 4

¶ Then the angel who talked with me returned, and woke me, as a man who is awakened out of his sleep,

And said to me, What do you see? And I said, I have looked, and see a lampstand all of gold, with a bowl on the top of it, and seven lamps on it, and seven spouts for the seven lamps, that are on the top of it:

And two olive trees by it, one on the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side of it.

Then I asked the angel who talked with me, What are these, my lord?

Then the angel who talked with me answered and said to me, Don’t you know what these are? And I said, No, my lord.

Then he answered me, saying, This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, says the LORD of hosts.

Who are you, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel you will become a plain: and he will bring out the keystone accompanied by shouts of, Grace, grace to it.

Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands will also finish it; and you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you.

For who despises the day when small things happen? for these seven will rejoice, to see the plumbline in the hand of Zerubbabel; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth.

¶ Then I asked him, What are these two olive trees on the right side of the candlestick and on its left side?

And I also asked him, What are these two olive branches beside the two golden ducts from which golden oil pours out?

And he replied, saying, Don’t you know what these are? And I said, No, my lord.

Then he said, These are the two anointed ones, who stand by the Lord of the whole earth.
